Welcome to my classroom!
My name is Erin Mills and I am THRILLED to be here at Valley Oaks! I am a native Houstonian and Spring Branch ISD graduate. I began my career here many years ago and and recently moved back to where I consider "home".
This is my 15th year as an educator. I have taught everything from Pre-K to 5th grade. I have also had the opportunity to work as an ESL teacher, Instructional Coach & Instructional Coordinator.
On a personal note, I have been married to my WONDERFUL husband James for 13 years
and we have 3 AMAZING children; Dylan(11), Rhett(10) & Mallory(8).
Some interesting facts about me are that I have been to 48 states in our great Nation....I'm looking forward to visiting Alaska & Hawaii someday. I enjoy birdwatching! I was raised with my grandparents and they were AVID birders, so we traveled most summers in search of interesting birds when I was growing up. I raise Great Danes! I have a quite a few running around my home at any moment, but I breed & raise Harlequin and Blue Danes; I Have also spent quite a bit of time to train my dogs to be therapy dogs; so they go pretty much wherever my family does. AND I come from a long line of teachers...in fact my great grandmother was a teacher on an Indian Reservation many years ago and I still have old letters from her detailing her daily life...it's pretty cool!
Needless to say, I hope you are getting ready to have the best year EVER! This is going to be the most amazing year and I can't wait to meet each and every one of you!

Welcome to my classroom! My name is Ms. Alyssa Wilder.
If you can believe it, I am a fifth-generation teacher. Teaching was clearly in my blood, and I am incredibly pleased to experience the joys of teaching, just as many have before me. This is my 10th year teaching and I am still as inspired as I was during my first year. I have taught fifth, fourth, and now third grade. I graduated from Austin College in Sherman, TX with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Education.
My roots are in Illinois and Texas, which means I am well-versed in Chicago history and border-town lingo. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, traveling (last summer I went to 6 different states), music, reading, and spending time with friends. I enjoy bringing my passion for literature, music, and technology to the classroom. I am looking forward to an exciting year at Valley Oaks Elementary!
